The 24 Hour Countdown

Well here we are, time for final preparations. We are each scurrying around to try and finish all those last minute details before departure, all the while trying to remind ourselves, He is the one that is in control.

As we read Oswald Chambers this morning we were reminded of this very important fact:

Jesus said there are times when God cannot lift the darkness from you, but you should trust Him. At times God will appear like an unkind friend, but He is not; He will appear like an unnatural father, but He is not; He will appear like an unjust judge, but He is not. Keep the thought that the mind of God is behind all things strong and growing. Not even the smallest detail of life happens unless God’s will is behind it. Therefore, you can rest in perfect confidence in Him. Prayer is not only asking, but is an attitude of the mind which produces the atmosphere in which asking is perfectly natural. "Ask, and it will be given to you . . ." (Matthew 7:7 ).

I love that quote, "not even the smallest detail of life happens unless God's will is behind it." What an amazing comfort in knowing He has ordered our steps for this journey that lies ahead. Whether it is finances, tight turn around times in between flights, luggage making it to its final destination, health, happiness, well being, effectiveness etc, He wills it all.

Be praying for our team of 12 as we make our way to Rovenki via Kiev. Pray also for those Ukrainians we will be working alongside as well as Joel and Mary Ellen Ragains. Most of all pray that everything that is said and done over the course of the next 10 days would bring Him glory and honor.

Thanks for your prayers, they are a lifeline! Melody
